There's a brilliant atmosphere in this bar at the foot of the Lloyd's building, which has become an alternative office for many brokers. The traditions of the long lunch are still alive here, although coffee and Red Bull are as popular as wine and beer during the day.

So take your risks with our friendly regulars from the Lloyd's market, who are sometimes ten-deep at the bar when there's a Lloyd's rugby club celebration or a big cricket match on the screens. Open wide for the yard of ale challenge and make sure you're in before 11am on Christmas Eve if you hope to find any champagne left in the fridges.
